Angie Buxton-King
Reiki Master, Spiritual Healer, Tutor, Author and Public Speaker
Angie was the first Healer to be empoyed by the NHS in 1999 as part of a Haematology Team and Cancer Unit in London.
She is a qualified tutor of adults in the life learning sector and a Director/Trustee of our charity The Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust.
Since 2004 following the publication of her first book The NHS Healer; she has been invited to speak at many medical and holistic conferences.
She is past chair of The Doctor Healer Network
and a former
council member of The College of Medicine representing complementary
therapies. Along with her late husband Graham, they created Spiritual Healing and Reiki Training that complies with National
Occupational
Standards. They also created the charities unique ‘Healing in Hospitals &
Hospices Training’ to provide healers
and
complementary therapists the necessary skills to work safely and
competently in a statutory setting. She was employed by University College London
Hospital (UCLH) as a Healer to deliver healing to cancer patients as
part of an integrated, holistic package of care for 12 years.
In 2006 Angie and Graham created the charity, The Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust. The trust was created in memory of Angie's son Sam, who was diagnosed in 1995 aged seven with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and who benefited enormously from healing before he died in 1998 aged 10. SBSHT continues to provide funds to employ healers within cancer centres in the NHS and hospices; this enables cancer patients and their families to receive healing free of charge at the hospital bedside when they need support most.

Jenny
has been a Healer for 22 years, working at the Mustard Tree Cancer
Support
Centre, Plymouth for 18 of these,firstly, as a volunteer ,then an employee, currently as the lead Complementary Therapist.
She is passionate about healing being available and accessible to people in a hospital setting, due to seeing first hand the positive benefits and differences it can make in patients and their families experience, as part of an integrated and holistic approach.
She looks forward to when access to healing in a clinical setting and the provision of Healers is the norm.
Sarah Dowson Registered Nurse Reiki therapist and teacher
Sarah has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and has worked in North Devon in various roles oncology and teaching roles within the NHS.
She is currently working as a Lecturer in Nursing so is involved
in the teaching of the future nursing workforce for North Devon.
Sarah says, "I am honoured to work as a Trustee for SBSHT and to
help continue the amazing work the charity does.My
passion is to care for others in a supportive way and for them to be able to find love, care and compassion for themselves".
